Our Mission
Church On The Way was constituted as a church and officially launched in February of 2021 in the midst of the “Corona Virus” epidemic. This was a time in our nation’s history like no other; most churches were closed or had just opened again.
Church On The Way was born out of a longing small group of followers of Jesus Christ in Kingsport, Tennessee to totally commit themselves to build a church around the precepts, principles, and pattern of Scripture and to imitate early church. The church emphasizes the Bible as the final authority in every area of life, and Jesus the Messiah as our life.
More About Us
The church government is Elder led and Deacon served. The church has “Next Steps with Church On The Way” classes during the connection group time throughout the year. The classes last for four weeks and cover our Statement of faith, our Structure as a New Testament church, our Strategy based on the priorities of Scripture, and how you can access ministries and how you can get involved. These are offered for anyone who is interested in exploring the possibility of covenant membership in Church On The Way.
The church is presently located at 1901 Meadowview Pkwy, Kingsport, and will be in this location until Winter of 2024, when the church will move into totally new facilities at 926 East Stone Drive, Kingsport. Dr. Tony Crisp has been our Senior Pastor since the Church on the Way was constituted as a church in 2021.
We are aligned with the Tennessee Baptist Mission Board and the Southern Baptist Convention. The church is also aligned and networks with likeminded churches across the nation to carry out the ministry and mission of Jesus.
Get Connected
The foundational purpose of Church On The Way is to obey and live out Christ’s commandments to LOVE GOD SUPREMELY, to LOVE OTHERS, and to MAKE DISCIPLES on the way!
Being a Christian is more than just an instantaneous conversion – it is a daily process whereby you grow to be more and more like Christ.
Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that.
God cannot give us a happiness and peace apart from Himself, because it is not there. There is no such thing.
